Little Heroes, formerly known as Helping Hand, was founded in 1997 by the medical staff of the Royal Belfast Hospital for Sick Children with the sole purpose of supporting the children in their care.
Little Heroes is an independent charity governed by a board of trustees and raises funds exclusively for “The Children’s Hospital”.
With growing pressures on the National Health Service, it has become increasingly important to seek additional sources of funding to provide essential equipment, support pioneering research and continuing education for our paediatric clinicians, and meet the immediate needs of children and their families.
By supporting Little Heroes, you will be helping to fund the purchase of vital new equipment used to diagnose and treat the hospital’s young patients, improve facilities and services for families, and support research into childhood illnesses—all while celebrating our ‘Big Heroes’, the dedicated paediatric healthcare professionals at the Royal Belfast Hospital for Sick Children.
Little Heroes relies entirely on the kindness, generosity, and support of individuals, communities, and corporate partners.
Without your help, the charity would be unable to continue its vital work—investing in life-saving equipment, essential family support, improved facilities, new services, and pioneering paediatric research.
